For three unforgettable days, the Bradford District came alive with the sound of brass, the thump of beats, and the buzz of community. The Big Brass Blowout wasn’t just a music event—it was a full-blown celebration of culture, creativity, and connection.

From the iconic traditions of Yorkshire brass bands to the high-energy fusion of bhangra-infused street jams, every corner of Bradford echoed with rhythm and joy. Across multiple venues and unexpected public spaces, audiences danced, clapped, and cheered through a programme that was bold, diverse, and wildly entertaining.

Capturing the soul of this spectacle was no small feat. Our three-man crew from Big Blue Whale embedded themselves in the action—moving from parades to intimate performances, chasing every goosebump moment, every spontaneous groove, every radiant grin. Over 72 hours of music, movement and magic, we filmed and produced a piece that tells the full story of what made The Big Brass Blowout such a special part of the journey to Bradford 2025.

Taking to the Skies for BBC Radio 2

To capture the full scale of the spectacle, we took things to another level—literally. Flying our DJI Mini 3 drone, we filmed breathtaking aerials that brought a fresh perspective to the celebration, commissioned especially for BBC Radio 2’s coverage. From the sweeping vistas of the city to overhead shots of brass bands weaving through crowds, the drone helped tell the story of Bradford’s energy and scale in a whole new way. Lightweight, agile, and surprisingly powerful, the Mini 3 was the perfect tool to catch the magic from above without missing a beat on the ground.
