SQLBits, the most important SQL event in Europe. We produced a set of videos to help with all aspects of next years promotion.
Sneaky Events got in touch to ask if we could help produce a set of videos for a large conference and party. SQLBits is the largest SQL Server conference in Europe for data professionals, led by Microsoft Data Platform experts. The four day conference took place in Olympia, London. Our goal was to create a set of engaging videos to promote the event and get sponsors and volunteers interested in attending next years event. On top of this we were also asked to capture photography stills over the weekend.
We traveled down to London bringing all our kit with us, gimbals, lights, sound gear, tripods etc. We had two camera operators and a photographer on site at the event. we quickly got set up and ready to go as we had many interviews to film before the event got busy. We also took this time to start on our hyperlapses and timelapses that we knew would help show off the scale of the event. We spent 2 day capturing some of the 150 sessions before the infamous SQLBits Party fun by the Sneaky Experience team who always go all out in creating a party that needs to be filmed.
The brief was to create 4 videos including the event highlight video, an edited down 45 second version, a sponsors video and a helpers video. The aim was to show off the conference within the events video that would double up as a promotion for next years event. With the sponsors video the aim was to encourage sponsors to commit to attending next years event. The aim with the volunteers video was similar, inspire potential volunteers to give their time in order to see the talks for free.
