Capturing the Bassline: Behind the Scenes of the Baseline Symphony

The Night Bassline Took Over Bradford

When bassline royalty met orchestral power at the stunning St George’s Hall in Bradford, Big Blue Whale was there to capture every electrifying moment. This wasn’t your typical concert it was a bold celebration of the city’s sound, brought to life through our event video production.

Curated by Tanya Vital, arranged by Katie Chatburn, and conducted by Garry Walker with the Orchestra of Opera North, this genre-bending performance featured Jamie Duggan, DJ Q, and TS7 legends of the UK bassline scene. They were joined by a stellar cast of guest vocalists and DJs for a once in a lifetime show that fused heavy bass with classical grandeur.

From crowd surges to orchestral crescendos, we were on-site to turn this event into an unforgettable events video. And alongside the film, we also captured still photography throughout the night, documenting everything from artist portraits to atmospheric venue shots giving the team a complete visual package to share, promote, and remember the night by.

A Marketing Video with Rhythm and Reach

Filming a live performance in a beautiful (and packed) Victorian concert hall requires a setup that’s nimble, creative, and rock solid. Our four-camera approach let us cover every angle and emotion and made sure nothing was missed.

  • 2 x Roaming Cameras – We had a Sony A7S III on a gimbal gliding through the crowd for smooth, immersive shots. Alongside that, our Sony FX9 operator worked handheld to get in close and grab the energy of the night from behind-the-scenes moments to audience reactions.

  • 2 x Sony A7IV Cameras (Side Stage & Back of Hall) – One camera sat just off-stage, capturing those intimate moments between performers. The other was positioned at the sound desk in the back, giving us wide, sweeping shots of the full orchestra, the lighting, and the venue’s grand scale.

Together, these cameras gave us everything we needed to produce an after movie that’s more than a recap it’s a visual experience. One that not only showcases the performance but supports events marketing and future promotion. Because the right marketing video doesn’t just tell people what happened it makes them wish they were there.

Capturing the Moment, Amplifying the Story

With tracks from TS7, DJ Q, and Jamie Duggan given an orchestral twist, this night wasn’t just about performance it was about evolution. TS7’s collaborations with Karen Harding, his sets at Glastonbury and Printworks, and DJ Q’s roots in the scene gave the show deep cultural weight. But hearing those tracks reimagined with strings and brass? That was something else.

At Big Blue Whale, we don’t just shoot events we help you extend their impact through powerful event video production, cinematic after movies, and compelling event photography. From live coverage to final edits, our goal is to create marketing content that feels as electric as the moment itself.

Looking for an events video that brings your story to life and keeps it alive long after the lights go down? Let’s talk.
